This, and the included sub-pages, are all about my boat. More specificaly, they are about the history and current restoration effort.
The boat is a Laurin 32, built in Malmo, Sweden, in 1964. She is named Centaurea. I first saw her when I first arrived in the BVI about three years ago. Just at first sight, I started having some serious ideas about owning her. It took nearly two more years to attain that goal! Another year later, she is much closer to getting in the water again.
I’ve been working on so many different projects inside and out that it’s hard to know where my “to do” list begins or ends. Still, after 9 months I feel like I’ve made signifigant progress. At least that’s what I tell myself whenever I tally up the bills!
The whole project has been signifigantly bolstered by living and working in a boatyard, where I have access to all the workspace, tools, and equipment. Free storage and a premium dry berth right alongside the shop are great too! Still, working evenings and weekends after longs days and weeks of fixing up other people’s boats can be wearying.
I’m still just setting up this website, so changes will be coming. I’ve been closely documenting my work in pictures, and will soon have many posted to compliment the descriptions. Please feel free to post comments, questions, and suggestions!
